Skol / Innovation Youth collaboration
Skol is proud to collaborate with Innovation Youth, an organization whose mandate is to offer a community space for youth and families living in or frequently visiting downtown, opening up the possibilities of integration into academic, family, and social life.
Skol participates to this mandate by presenting art workshops, given by a Skol member and based on the artist’s process.
Workshop description
Through artist presentations, discussions, drawing workshops, and city walks, participants are encouraged to explore self-representation, the relationship between the individual and the group, and to reflect on the experience. of the body in the city. They will explore drawing and collage, sculpture and gesture, photography and video. Encouraged to use these tools to intervene spontaneously in the city, they will develop a more general vision of current art.
The workshop is designed to encourage discussion and collaborative work.
The program includes: two visits to the current Skol Arts Center; creative workshops using different mediums (drawing, sculpture, photo and video); explorations in the public space (individual and collective projects).
The works from the workshop will be presented at Skol on Friday, July 20th, from 3 to 5 pm during a friendly meeting between Skol participants, speakers, members and the public
