Description du projet
Il s’agit d’un échange d’expositions de membres avec le centre PAVED à Saskatoon. Commissaire: David LaRiviere.
Dans Haunt, l’artiste Terry Billings projète une imagerie naturelle sur des formes associées à la culture ex-urbaine pour exprimer l’évolution constante de la mémoire, et de la construction de l’identité.
Dans la série photographique Nearly Every Building In Dawson, l’artiste Scott Rogers problématise la représentation d’une ville qu’on associe encore à la ruée vers l’or, en tentant l’exercice absurde de documenter l’intégralité des bâtiments construits de la ville de Dawson.
Les documents photographiques et maquettes de Jordan Schwab intitulés Stairway to nowhere illustrent le potentiel poétique et critique d’une intervention in situ qui met en scène «trois marches» qui ne mènent nul part dans le paysage d’une banlieue générique en expansion constante.
Dans la série de photographies intitulée The Temptations of Doctor Antonio, l’artiste Biliana Velkova expose les codes et mécanismes employés par la publicité dans une critique féministe de la construction masculine de l’identité féminine.

1. My project was inspired by a short film by Federico Fellini entitled The Temptations of Dr. Antonio. Here is more information on the film: mondo70.blogspot.com
2. It is also inspired by 1950s “B” type Hollywood films such as The Attack of the 50’ Woman.
3. I also took inspiration from old horror movie poster designs, such as the work of Saul Bass (saulbass.tv).
