Membership categories Artist Member Artist Member ($20) ; Student Artist Member ($15) To qualify as an artist member, applicants must meet the following criteria in line with the recognition of professional artist status:  Be a professional artist specializing in contemporary art;  Hold or be pursuing a university degree (undergraduate or graduate) in visual arts;  Have a coherent and critically engaged artistic practice in contemporary art;  Be recognized by peers\u2014for example, by having received a distinction, a grant, or having exhibited in professional venues.  Artist members have the right to vote in the centre\u2019s democratic processes and are strongly encouraged to take an active role in committees contributing to the centre\u2019s activities. Supporting Member Individual Supporting Member, with voting rights ($20). A supporting member is any individual who wishes to contribute to SKOL\u2019s activities. This may include independent creators, producers, cultural workers, or other professionals engaged in the visual or media arts sectors. Supporting members have voting rights and can actively participate in the committees that help shape the centre\u2019s life. Corporate Philanthropic Member Corporate Philanthropic Member, without voting rights ($100). A corporate philanthropic member may be a company, institution, or patron wishing to provide financial, material, or technical support to the Centre des arts actuels SKOL. Membership procedures In the interest of accessibility and inclusion, the centre offers support to anyone who may need assistance completing their membership application.  1 Applicants must send their request to the Membership Committee (via membership@skol.ca or in person), including:  A document (text, audio, video, or visual) briefly explaining their interest in joining SKOL;  Their contact information (postal code, email address, and phone number);  Their curriculum vitae;  A short visual portfolio or other relevant materials or links.  Applicants for student artist membership must include proof of enrollment in a visual or media arts program with each renewal.  2 Review of the application The Membership Committee\u2014along with a board member and a staff representative\u2014reviews applications during regular meetings.  3A Acceptance If accepted, the new member will receive by email:  A payment link for the membership fee according to their category;  A welcome package for new members;  A form to document their relationship with the centre (committee participation, available services, potential collaborations, skills, etc.).   3B Refusal If the application is not accepted, the applicant will receive a brief explanation and an invitation to join as a supporting member.
