A project by Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Prost<\/strong> with collaborators, presented by Skol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Co-programmed by Rebecca Ladida<\/strong> and Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Prost<\/strong><\/p>\n Artists<\/strong> : \u00c8ve Constantin, GeoVanna Gonzalez, Janie Julien-Fort, Jess Slipp, Johnny Forever with soundtrack by Gamletron, Julie-Isabelle Laurin,<\/span> Karen Trask, Lucie Rocher, Lamathilde, Laurence Beaudoin Morin with soundtrack by Johann Schlager, Lucie Rocher, Mathilde Forest<\/span>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n July 6th, 2024, (*postponed to Sunday, July 7 in case of rain)<\/strong><\/p>\n Starting at 7:00 PM :<\/strong><\/p>\n Aperitif: bar and music<\/p>\n at dusk (around 9:00 PM)<\/strong> :<\/p>\n Projection <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Project Description:<\/b><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n Two enthusiasts of spaces, Ladida and Prost, with extensive experience in spatial and social practices, seek to explore the possible variations of this dual theme. femmes <\/em><\/strong>(women): written in italics and lowercase to avoid any essentialism, thus paving the way for a more inclusive and queer<\/strong> understanding of the term in our diverse linguistic cultures. chantiers<\/em> (<\/strong>worksites): through attentive listening to the sensitivities and practices specific to the worksite such as surveillance, bodily interventions<\/strong>, oblique gestures, attitudes, glances, styles, the gendered construction of self, as well as the diversion of materials<\/strong> and construction<\/strong> methods.<\/p>\n Further information will follow\u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n About CHANTIER<\/strong><\/p>\n CHANTIER is an artistic, political and social investigation of the conceptualization and creation of a large display device situated on a vacant lot at 6919 Marconi in Montr\u00e9al. For more than a year, this proposed structure will serve as a support for the realization of a series of collaborative, artistic and civic interventions.<\/span><\/p>\n 6919 Marconi, starting point of the CHANTIER<\/span> project, is located in a hybrid urban zone (residential, industrial and commercial) along a train line. For many years now, Prost individually and collectively initiated on this 1 800 ft2 lot different types of occupations, such as workshops, projections, launches and urban camping. Today, many city dwellers are challenged and drawn to this vacant lot as a space-time of stopping, slowing down and spontaneity in an era of acceleration and increased control.<\/span><\/p>\n Unlike entertained-animated spaces that are overly programmed and codified, as we know nowadays, the vacant lot stays wide open for imagination (without dictating how we behave, move and travel). According to the theoretician Benjamin Delmotte, this allows \u201cmultiple never-ending beginnings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
