Universal Accessibility

Skol Centre values diversity and inclusion. Our staff have received training to better understand and welcome Deaf and disabled visitors. We have also developed a range of services, outlined below.

Mobility & Physical accessibility

The Belgo building is partially accessible by wheelchair and for people using mobility aids. The exhibition presented by Skol is fully accessible by wheelchair and for people using mobility aids. Discover the details on the building’s accessibility here.

We offer an escort service from the building entrance to our gallery. Our trained receptionist will be happy to guide you through the exhibition, describing the works in a way adapted to your needs.

Contact us at 514-398-9322 for more information or to plan your visit.

Neurodiversity & intellectual disabilities

Our receptionist is sensitized, open-minded, and non-judgmental toward neurodivergent visitors and those with intellectual disabilities. Sensory accommodations are available upon request at the front desk.

Our cultural mediator is trained to offer guided exhibition visits with creative workshops for groups of neurodivergent visitors and/or those living with intellectual disabilities. Contact us to plan your visit.

Deaf community & LSQ

To facilitate exchanges, our Deaf cultural mediator and an LSQ interpreter are present at our openings and at many of our events. A presentation of our centre in LSQ is available on a tablet at the gallery reception.

A pen and paper are provided to facilitate communication with the receptionist (who is currently learning basic LSQ). Our Deaf cultural mediator can lead exhibition visits for school groups of Deaf visitors in their first language. More info
