New general and artistic director par intérim
The Skol team is pleased to welcome Nuria Carton de Grammont as General and Artistic Director per intérim.
Nuria Carton de Grammont is an independent art historian and curator. She holds a doctorate in art history from Concordia University and a master’s degree in art studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
She has been involved in the cultural field for several years, where she has accumulated professional experience, particularly in research, project management, conservation, communication and cultural mediation. Drawing on these multiple experiences, Nuria has the baggage to take over Skol’s current until July.
Thus, the areas of interest developed by Nuria through her career are in line with Skol’s values and its desire to take risks. This is also evident in several of her projects and publications that address the mobility of knowledge and people in the context of postcolonial reflections.
In addition, his knowledge and implications within artist centres (including Skol, Optica and La Centrale galerie Powerhouse) will certainly be promising and fertile for Skol, and will promote the centre’s decolonial expansion.
It is certain that Nuria will be able to meet with sagacity the many challenges ahead.
Skol takes this opportunity to wish the best to Stéphanie Chabot during her parental leave! The Skol team and the board of directors welcome Nuria.
For any questions and thoughts, please do not hesitate to contact Nuria at the following address: nuria@skol.ca
