JOURNÉE PAROLES ET MANŒUVRES: EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE

Multidisciplinary event

Saturday, April 27th,  2019 at 2 p.m.

Journée Paroles et Manœuvres

In the spirit of exchange and reflection, Skol invites the public to participate in Journées Paroles et Manœuvres. A cross-disciplinary meeting of interventions, conferences, performances and discussions, this event aims to inverse roles, to encourage collaboration between different types of expertise and to support hybrid forms of communication. Journées Paroles et Manœuvres is an opportunity to take time, together, through various forms and ideas.

Everything must change

While we grapple with issues like gentrification, social inequality, and the environmental crisis, we are often in fact treating the symptoms, and not the cause, that is, the very system that is itself at the root of these problems. This is perhaps because, as Alain Denault puts it: “we live within a system that dare not speak its own name”.

“The struggle agains capitalism is firts and foremost a question of dealing with all the wrinkles of affect and desire that it has instilled in so many of us. Leaving capitalism behind means reconstructing a system of desire and an imaginary on the scale of all human society, which itself is no small undertaking” – Frédéric Lordon
