Lauch of the publication reiterations
reiterations is the most recent publication of poet and artist Fortner Anderson. It is an electronic-book containing 24 sonnets. Each reading of reiterations is unique. Each time the book is opened a software integrated into the e-book recomposes the verses of its 24 sonnets to create 24 new poems.
The poems of reiterations pay homage to the highly versatile form of the sonnet and those poets who used that form to create their master works.
Using a number of constraints, each of the verses of the 24 poems was composed over a three year period between 2019 and 2021 in Montreal and Sutton, Quebec.
Among its debts to many other poets, this work is particularly beholden to Raymond Queneau’s magistral work Cent mille milliards de poèmes.
On 26th May, the book will be launched with a sample reading of the 24 poems. From that date, copies of the e-publication will be distributed free of charge.
25 copies of reiterations have been created as non-fungible tokens.

Artist and poet, Fortner Anderson is noted for the performance of his poems, his unique artist books and installations, and his formalist and experimental work to renew and expand poetic forms. His publications of poetry include Considerations published in 2021 in the form of a silver-age comic book, Points of Departure (2017) a book of poems encased in bronze, and annunciations (2012), a poetic re-interpretation of the final minutes of the space shuttle Columbia disaster. He has presented his poetry in the United States, Canada, Colombia and across Europe. His performances and installations have been showcased widely including at the Festival Internazionale di Poesia di Genova and the Poesiefestival Berlin. In 2007, he was awarded the La voix électrique prize for career achievement in performance poetry and in 2018, he received the Poésie dans la cité award from the Conseil des arts de Montréal for his project with Geneviève Letarte, L’inventaire des faits en neuf lieux de Montréal un aprrès-midi d’été. Originally from the American Midwest, Fortner Anderson now lives and works in Montreal, Canada where he hosts a one-hour weekly show on CKUT-FM entitled Dromostexte which broadcasts recordings of poetry and the spoken word.
