Laurent LeBel-Roux: Side A
Drawing
January 12th — February 25th, 2023
Laurent Le Bel-Roux combines his expertise in sound technology and his artistic practice by combining sound recording and drawing. In this work, he explores the transposition of sound to an alternative medium such as the image using a spectrogram. Unpredictable, the sound content he collects to create his compositions allows him to focus on a creative process that is intuitive and reactive to the constraints of what he finds.
Laurent holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts from UQAM (2021). In 2022, he did his first solo show Faire Office at Fais-moi l’art (Montreal). His work has been presented in several group exhibitions including Artch [5th edition] (Montreal), Galerie Cache (Montreal), and Plein Sud (Longueuil).
The exhibition is presented in relation to Side B, presented at Occurence|Centre d’art et d’essai contemporains.
