Artist’s talk by Catherine Bodmer about a residency she did in Mexico, in the context of the CALQ’s Échanges d’artistes et d’ateliers – Résidences Québec-Mexique program.

Catherine Bodmer, originally from Switzerland, graduated from the School of Arts in Lucerne and completed a Master’s degree in art at the Université du Québec in Montréal in 1999. Her artistic practice includes installations, in-situ work, and photographs dealing with ideas of transformation and fluidity which are central to her research. Her work has been presented at several solo and group exhibitions across Canada, as well as in Mexico and Taiwan. In 2008, she was awarded the Canada Council’s Duke and Duchess of York Award in Photography. In 2010, she completed a residency in Mexico City as part of the studio residency program of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She will return this spring to participate in another residency at ADM Centro de Arte Diseño Multimedia.
