Project Description
Through architectural interventions, Sylvain Baumann questions the multitude of limits which structure his spaces. This exhibition is accompanied by a text by painter Louis-Phillipe Côté.
"[AIR PLAIN 2]" by Louis-Philippe CôtéCurrently living and working between Montreal and Marseille, multidisciplinary French artist Sylvain Baumann has a Master’s degree in visual arts from Université de Provence and is completing a Master’s degree in Arts visuels et médiatiques at Université du Québec à Montréal. Known for his installations-performances, he explores the notions of spatial limits, the potential of conduction elements and the structural tensions leading to individual behaviors. His latest projects have been presented at VAV Galery (Montreal), CDEx (Montreal), Parisian Laundry (Montreal) and Galerie Verticale (Laval). Besides his current exhibition at Skol, his work will soon be exhibited at Action Art Actuel (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu), in June 2009.
