Beneath the Surface of the Everyday
Exhibition from May 1 to June 21, 2025
Opening on Thursday, May 1 at 5 PM
As part of the PRÉSENCES project, SKOL presents Beneath the Surface of the Everyday, a group exhibition featuring five emerging artists who each completed a creation residency at Centre SAGAMIE.
Curated by Félipe Goulet-Letarte and Adrien Guillet, the exhibition brings together the works of Zoé Julien-Tessier, Annie-Kim Rainville, Alejandra Zamudio, Sarah Toung ondo, and Amanda Roy, whose practices explore the folds, tensions, and narratives of the everyday.
Through testimonies, fictions, archives, and graphic gestures, these artists reveal voices, figures, and worlds often hidden or pushed to the margins. Their works invite us to look differently at the familiar, to slow down, and to question what we choose to see—or not see—in the world around us.
The exhibition text was written by Gabrielle Izaguirré-Falardeau, guest author selected by the curators.
The exhibition will travel to Centre SAGAMIE in Alma following its presentation at SKOL.
