LAUNCH OF SKOL’s PODCAST

Launch of SKOL’s podcast, imagined by Laurence Beaudoin-Morin and Johanne Gauthier

Episode 1 (released Tuesday, September 16): Jean-Philippe Luckhurst-Cartier and Renata Paciullo Ribeiro

Spotify       Apple Podcasts

A rich dialogue unfolds between these two artists and cultural mediators, exploring the connections between their artistic practice and their role in cultural mediation with diverse audiences. Practicing cultural mediation from a participatory and collaborative perspective involves listening closely to audience reactions while offering them tools to better understand public and contemporary art. They become catalysts for change, helping us to see art differently.

Episode 2 (released Tuesday, September 30): arkadi lavoie lachapelle and Ileana Hernández Camacho

Spotify       Apple Podcasts

Two performance artists come together in an authentic and intimate dialogue. While grounded in their identities, their artistic practices break through the boundaries that feel too narrow. Their artistic strategies allow them to navigate identities—imposed or chosen—while fostering connection and emancipation. Their work is infused with a balance of humor and drama. For one, embracing humor is a way to pause and breathe. For the other, playfulness brings a sprinkle of joy, since being an artist, a woman, and an immigrant can be demanding. Altogether, this approach opens space for a more intuitive creative process and a welcoming of one’s full self.

Episode 3 (released Tuesday, October 14): Annie-Kim Rainville et Laetitia de Coninck

Spotify       Apple Podcasts

For these two artists, time and space play a crucial role in their practice, shifting. Their conversation reveals multiple points of connection, even though the forms of their respective projects seem quite opposite. One acts as a almost-sociologist of the everyday, focusing on the organization of small inhabited spaces in urban environments; the other connects with nature by following its cycles as a source for creation. Both are deeply committed, seeking to impact the environment in ultimately complementary ways.

Episode 4 (released Tuesday, October 28): Gabrielle Desrosiers et Manon André

Spotify       Apple Podcasts

Both artists need openness and nature as sources of inspiration. One creates installations from collages, sculptures, and collected objects, and also works with video; the other focuses mainly on video and photography while also experimenting with collage. Their practices share a spirit of reconfiguring landscapes—both external and internal—and a deep concern for the environment. They view intergenerational dialogue as fertile ground where the diversity of experiences and perspectives fuels creativity and fosters the exploration of new ideas.
