KATIA GOSSELIN: TRUE STORIES (GEOLOGY OF MELANCHOLY)

Photography

January 11th – March 10th, 2018

Project Description

True Stories (Geology of Melancholy) is a tangle of truthful, intimate, narrative and fantasized links. This project proposes to play with the limits of tenuous lines between the real and the fictional, staging problems that are not real or created by the mind. This is part of a wider approach towards restitution, engaged in the demonstration of the inherent qualities of the subjects and the enhancement of imperfection, therefore giving photographs a dubious aesthetic. Regarding this aspect, Katia Gosselin’s photographic series report complex narratives underlining the discomfort of a being within a dystopian society.
