Things are changing at Centre SKOL

Just before the start of the new cultural season, things are changing at Centre des arts actuels SKOL. It is with great emotion that we announce the departure of Stéphanie Chabot. She is stepping down as General and Artistic Director to take on new challenges.

Over the past twelve years, Stéphanie has shaped, embodied and strengthened SKOL’s mission. The promotion of engaged art has been at the heart of her accomplishments, notably with dedicated publications highlighting contemporary voices and perspectives.

The Paroles et Manoeuvres days are eloquent testimony to her ability to create platforms for exchange and reflection, reinforcing the role of the visual arts as a vector for dialogue and social change. Her commitment to artistic mediation is one of her great contributions, bringing audiences and artists closer together.

Her dedication to emerging artists and performance artists has been demonstrated through innovative initiatives such as the collaborative workshop with François Morelli. Most recently, she demonstrated her vision by implementing the Plan d’ensemble, guiding SKOL towards new horizons while remaining true to its foundations.

Stéphanie has often expressed her desire to leave a social legacy through the Centre’s projects. We firmly believe that this legacy is palpable in our community, through the values she instilled and the path she charted.

This legacy is SKOL’s ability to embrace risk in order to create bold, meaningful exhibitions. We will continue to cherish and cultivate this audacity.

On behalf of the entire team and members of the Centre SKOL, we wish her all the best for the future.

We wish Stéphanie all the best for her future adventures!
