SE RALLIER II (COMING TOGETHER II)

2020-2021 Program

Surrounded as we are by the restrictive powers of normality, we have taken to showing off our particularities and defending our differences and identities. Distinctiveness has become the new normal, and the idea of coming together now gives rise to some tensions: Is rallying together possible without proselytizing or losing a part of ourselves?

This in turn offers us an opportunity to question our own individualism: How have our communal habits faded to this extent? How can we relearn to share space?

By researching collective lifestyles, forming collaborations with peers, sharing exhibition space, and transmitting artistic approaches to neighbourhood teens, this programming year’s artists strive to reconnect, imagining forms and actions capable of reshaping the spaces that separate us, and enabling us to truly inhabit the imperceptible.
